Stanhopea graveolens
A very beautiful species from Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia and Brazil, with large white flowers of 13cm, spotted with brown, diffusing a very intense perfume. Stanhopea oculata will be cultivated in a temperate greenhouse where the night time temperature during the vegetative period can be around 13°C. The flowering period is from July to September.
This orchid is young (pot size 5.5 cm) and may take between six months and two years to flower, depending on the maintenance.
